چکیده

Background: Although the prevalence of both type 1 and 2 diabetes mellitus is increasing worldwide, DM rising more rapidly, because sedentary lifestyle, obesity increased life expectancy. Objectives: To study correlation between fasting postprandial triglyceride levels Carotid artery intimal medial thickness (CIMT) in Type Diabetic Patients. Material Methods: This cross sectional observation was done Department General Medicine, Mysore Medical College Research Institute, Mysore, Karnataka, India during January 2019 to June 2020. Sample size 50 Simple Random sampling method used. Results: The mean carotid IMT subjects with triglycerides < 200 normal 0.92±0.33. 200-299 1.52±0.57. ≥300 1.66±0.45. Conclusion: hypertriglyceridemia, despite levels, may be an independent risk factor for early atherosclerosis diabetes. Hence evaluating not only FTG but also PPTG level clinical assessment patients important.

Correlation between biopterin levels and intimal-media thickness in type-2 diabetic hypertensive patients

BACKGROUND Biopterins have a crucial role in the function of nitric oxide synthase, uncoupling of the enzyme leads to endothelial dysfunction and vascular damage, The aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship between the levels of biopterins with carotid intima-media thickness (CIMT) in hypertensive type-2 diabetic patients. METHODS We studied 30 hypertensive type-2 diabetic patients...
